Amazing rates without any hassle
I've been with Tello for about a year. The pricing is excellent, and you can quickly reach Customer Service if needed. Set up was quick and easy. I had an ongoing problem with photos and websites not loading while on data. It did take several attempts to solve but yesterday I talked to the right person and she solved it in 10 seconds. Now the service works perfectly again and I'm sticking with Tello. No nonsense, no headaches. Highly recommend.

When I needed customer service they were right there when I called and handled my question. when we went out of town, I needed to use the phone as a wifi service for my computer and it worked without flaw.

It started out rough for my iPad but TELLO customer service was GOLDEN! EXCELLENT follow through! THANKS TELLO!
I have an iPad with cellular+wifi, and saw so many ads saying that Tello would work with my iPad. Initially (2 days ago) when I signed up, after 2 days of difficulty, I spoke to a tech support rep who flatly contradicted all the advertising saying that this data service would work with my iPad. This tech rep emphatically told me that Tello would not work on any iPad PERIOD. When I wrote to tech support about the many ads saying that TELLO is good for tablets, they contacted me and FIXED MY PROBLEM! The tech support person I spoke to initially who said I would never have Tello working on my iPad WAS WRONG and the backup TECH SUPPORT contacted me and got everything working! I'm THRILLED with their response! THIS IS THE CATCH with an iPad: They're not built for cellular phone use so although a phone number is assigned to every account, the number does not work for incoming or outgoing calls with any data plan or any cellular plan, even though these iPads can use either a physical sim card or an E-Sim. The problem with that is when Tello needs to send you a ONE-TIME code to log into your account - because the phone number doesn't work, you are OUT OF LUCK. But there is a solution that the new Tello Rep who contacted me worked out. Theres one back door that allows you to get the one time code. What the iPad with WiFi+Cellular is good for, is giving you secure private internet access when you are on the go, so you don't need to utilize public WiFi. It can also allow your iPad to act as a hotspot for a laptop or other devices. You do need to check (by entering your IMEI number) for compatibility of your device. THIS IS KEY INFORMATION: If you have an iPad and have difficulty setting it up, this is what the KNOWLEDGABLE representative specifically told me: ************* We understand that iPads, even those with SIM compatibility, cannot receive SMS messages directly. While these devices can use mobile data, the Messages app on iPads only mirrors messages from a paired iPhone and does not support native SMS functionality. For this and similar situations, we offer an alternative method to log in to the app if you're unable to receive text messages: -Log in to your Tello account at: their link for my settings. -Scroll to the “One-time Mobile App Password” section. -Enter your Security PIN and click “Request Password.” -A one-time password will be displayed on the screen. You can use this code to log in to the My Tello app. Keep in mind that this login only needs to be completed once, as the session should remain active on your iPad unless you log out manually. ************* Make sure, if you are signing up for use on an iPad, that you find the correct tech support from TELLO who has the real answers! This too: Under GENERAL on your iPad you need to go to CELLULAR DATA to turn on the ability to use your iPad as a Personal Hotspot if you intend to use it that way. Also you should set APN settings on your iPad. You can find that info on the TELLO website. I'm on "day one" and feeling really thrilled at the time and attention the customer service staff paid to help resolve my issue. THANK YOU TELLO!

I use my phone as a phone, not a computer mostly. So I don't need a big streaming phone account. Tello offers a basic phone plan for what I need. Great phone service for those abroad
I recently transferred my Tello e-sim from one phone in Poland to another. This service is the best way to keep a U.S. phone line in operation during long trips abroad. This is my iphone's second line. Not only can I get text messages from the U.S. (for example, from my bank during a security check), but if I have Wi-Fi access, I can call friends and have my number show up normally.

Number porting for two separate numbers from two different providers has been flawless. Steps given for obtaining a number and performing port provided all required details. Service has been great, with comparable coverage of previous providers. We've not experienced any outages or notable slowdown in service. First number has been with Tello for 6 months. Second number was ported in the last month.

Love the flexibility. The app is easy to use. Due to my travel schedule, I need flexibility in my package (frequent changes due to extended travel abroad) and Tello gives me that flexibility. Would appreciate if (a) the lowest package was closer to zero (basically not used for a period of time when abroad), and (b) prorate at the time of changing plans (don’t lose previous $$ credit just because I change part way through the cycle).

Unmatched service
I took a career break to study and travel and I was paying hundreds of dollars to retain my USA number - until I found Tello. It took about an hour or so to switch and port my number and bring down my bill to a fraction! The support staffs are always available and willing to go extra miles to solve any problems. I wish I knew about Tello a year ago!

Great service – simple, flexible, and user-friendly I really appreciate Tello for the simplicity of their plans and the ability to customize everything based on my needs. It’s the closest I’ve found to the prepaid offers I’m used to in Europe, which I really missed during my stay in the U.S. The coverage is very good by U.S. standards. I also had an issue with roaming while in Europe, and Tello’s support team helped me patiently until the problem was fully resolved. What I especially liked is that I was able to handle everything via email, which I personally prefer. I also value the option to suspend the number temporarily without losing it, and the fact that there are no cancellation periods — you can stop the service anytime. I’ve already recommended Tello to several friends, and they’ve been just as satisfied as I am.

Except Tello, all the other mobile phone companies are all about greed and dishonesty. Their tactics to fool and trap current and new customers are despicable. I feel very fortunate to have found Tello. This company treats me like a person rather than a target like other companies do. I was reluctant to contact the support team by email because I needed to solve the issue as soon as possible, but I gave it a try anyway. To my surprise, I got a super fast response with detailed, step-by-step instructions from the support team, which helped me solve the problem and saved me from buying another SIM card/plan. A great company with excellent service
I have been with Tello.com for over 5 years. The customer service has always been courteous, knowledgeable and excellent. Today, I added a second phone to my plan. No other provider has a better signal than Tello - at my remote location. However, the first person "Maria" or "Mary" who answered the phone at 11.30 am on 5/16, abruptly hung up on me after a few minutes, and I had to call back. First I live in the state of Indiana I live in an area a lot of college kids so that means there's a big drain second off I live in spots where nobody gets any service and then there are places where the antennas are so close that it cancels out the phone so good service is hard to find and trust me I've been around the block AT&T Sprint you name it minors and majors I've checked them all out so I decided to try Tello and to my amazement it does better than the rested I got service and spots that the others didn't and even down the black holes here where nobody get service I still manage to get service now not every app is going to be happy I'm the one that loves music playing games videos I'm a gamer and I get into stocks and bonds and the rest as well as Krypton Bitcoin I get into painting and drawing as well and writing none of the apps failed they all did great on the speed you're no glitches no standstills no blinks not even as I had incoming the flawless no I'm not saying the service is perfect and setting up I screwed up and I'm pretty usually pretty good at it but take your time because it takes time to get things done and two let your phone download all the information don't get Reckless let it go at its speed to finish at once it's done shut off your phone and start your phone up this helps the IU in your phone a lot after that have fun you still going to have to program all your passwords and open your apps after that you're good to go great job Tello

Ordering and Follow-Up Process
Ordering was easy but the "free SIM card" as stated on the "Phones" page with the purchase of a new phone, became questionable. I was unsure whether one needed a SIM in both (new and old) devices in order to port one's number and data between the two, leaving me to believe that two SIMs weren't a problem. When I didn't get a free one with my new phone, I did everything manually in order to activate it. The Tello emails with directions that I received were somewhat confusing because they were inaccurate. Also, Tello uses the word "line" and I wasn't sure if that meant a "new number" or new service or plan? Anyway, I extracted my SIM card from my old iPhone and inserted it into my new iPhone and finally got it activated after some frustration. I sent this info via email to Tello Customer Service (TCS) and immediately received several positive responses. The info received back from TCS should be placed under a "Contact Us" banner on Tello's main website page. One of the frustrations by friends of mine that use Tello is the difficulty of being able to physically speak to a Tello rep instead of responding to an automated phone system. A HITL (Human in the Loop) is ALWAYS a good business practice vs AI or any other digital-only business practice. Thank you and have a great day!

The customer service rep that stayed on the phone with me for like an hour was the best and extremely patient. I was trying to add an esim to a Google Pixel 3 watch and having issues is why I called. Long story short, it didn't happen and thru no fault of the rep. I called Google next and guess what? They couldn't figure it out either. Pretty sad. I returned the watch yesterday and have a Galaxy watch coming today.

My only complaint is poor coverage, sometimes right outside my apartment and in some stores I get almost no signal and using GPS while driving often becomes problematic.

It’s also the only MVMO I’ve found where your minutes and data still carry over the next month (as long as you pay in time). I am a U.S. expat now living in the Philippines. I was a previous SKYPE user. Since SKYPE has gone away, I was desperate to find another service which was compatible with 2FA texts so that I could continue to receive codes from my bank, social security, and other important agencies that use 2 Factor Authentication for security and identification purposes. I also wanted to keep my same U.S. phone number that I had been using with SKYPE for all those years so that I wouldn't have to notify everyone of a new phone number. Tello helped me "port in" my SKYPE phone number which has now become my Tello number. Tello helped me make the change over very easy and quick. Please keep in mind that your number may not work with every 2FA code, but for the ones that I need them to work with, Tello is great. Tello also offers features that SKYPE did not. I'm very satisfied.

The price is unbeatable
The price is unbeatable, I don't even care that I use less than 1% of my data. Calls are reliable and with no problems that I can attribute to Tello when there's a bad connection. When I take a road trip once in a while there are no extra charges, but it would be nice to know what they would be if I traveled more often.

Spoke to a representative named Michael. He helped guide me through the process of resolving my issue, and his customer service skills were PHENOMENAL. He helped guide me through a tough tech issue, and he showed a great deal of patience and genuinely wanted to help. I was very impressed considering that most reps with other companies just want to get you off the phone as soon as possible. Michael's the best customer service rep I've ever interacted with. (And for the record, I've spoken with 2 other Tello reps, and they were great as well, so props to Tello!)

Cheap and effective
A real, live person answered the phone last time I called for assistance. To be fair, that was several years ago - because assistance is not something much needed with Tello. Less than twelve bucks a month for unlimited calling, unlimited text, and a gig of high-speed data. Need more than a gig? Couple bucks more... What's not to like?

While traveling abroad...
Phone calls and texting while traveling abroad are excellent and affordably priced—definitely 5 stars. However, data usage, especially with apps like Google Maps for navigation, can become EXTREMELY costly very quickly—only 1 star for that aspect.

Together, Shawn and Tello provides, patience and excellent customer service.
I originally was going to give a 2star rating but called back again moments later and spoke to a different representative named, Shawn. The previous woman was not very helpful she caused my wife to not want to activate her new tello SIM card. Shawn not only fixed my problem, he helped to reasure to her why i have a great deal of confidence in Tello. Shawn provided excellent customer service and patience for me and my wife's android services/cost and performance issues both domestically and internationally. .ost importantly is that Shawn Allow me to explain the issue without any interruptions before interjecting what he thought the issue was. That is what impressed us the most.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5…
Very good product, with flexible plan options and great quality. I especially appreciate the calling app, which solves the issue of poor call quality caused by weak carrier signal. Calls made through the Tello app are very clear. Also, Tello’s choice of a blue-themed design is very pleasant to look at. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because Tello tends to suspend accounts too easily, often without sufficient reason, and once an account is suspended, there is no way to appeal or recover it. This is the only downside so far.

I'm happy with the phones and service
I'm happy with the phones and the deal I got from the company. I wanted good smartphones that did the basics, and the site recommended just what I needed. Speaking with the service team helped me get exactly what I wanted. The only reason not to give 5 stars is the fact that I had to separately claim for the offered cash back deal, rather than it being automatic, and this info wasn't stated anywhere.
